Education:
- Complete a colonic irrigation apprenticeship, or
- Complete of a course of study in colonic irrigation at a board approved massage school. This course of study will be verified by receipt of an official transcript.
If you completed a course of study through a massage school or provider in another state, the course of study must be equivalent to or exceed the course of study required in Florida.
Examination:
The National Board for Colon Hydrotherapy Examination administered by the NBCHT, is currently accepted for certification.

- Submit your application, fee payment, and supporting documentation.
Applications submitted without fees will not be processed.
For more information on how to submit fee payment for an application that has already been submitted, see our “How Do I…?”. - If you have never taken the NBCHT, receive authorization to test. Authorization to test will be issued to applicants whose education was completed by a course of study once education has been reviewed. Once authorization has been issued, you will receive an application for the NBCHT examination, and will be responsible for registering for the examination with the NBCHT. Board staff cannot submit your application for testing or forward examination applications on your behalf.
- Have your NBCHT scores reported to the board office.
The NBCHT will provide your scores directly to the Board office. Applicant-submitted score reports will not be accepted.
