In response to the ongoing public health emergency created by COVID-19, and in light of issues raised by the requirement for in-person classroom hour instruction and the advisements of the CDC, Department of Health, and Department of Education concerning social distancing and education in in-person settings, the Board of Massage Therapy entered into emergency rulemaking on March 20, 2020 and adopted emergency rule 64B7ER20-22, which was effective from March 23rd, 2020 to June 21, 2020.
The Board re-entered emergency rulemaking during their July 9-10 General Business Meeting and has adopted emergency rule 64B7ER20-29 to continue allowing some required hours to be taught by distance learning. This rule has been filed with the Department of State and became effective July 15, 2020.

For schools who have been following rules discussions regarding distance learning outside of emergency rule, this emergency rule is identical to the proposed rule changes to 64B7-32.003, F.A.C. which were previously reviewed and accepted by the Board and are currently in the filing process.
